During last nights game against the Waratahs which saw the Crusaders win 23-22, Crusaders lock Dominic Bird incurred a significant shoulder injury. Following further medical assesment today the Crusaders can confirm that Bird has ruptured his left pectoralis major tendon and will require surgery later this week. The injury will see him out of the remainder of the 2013 Investec Super Rugby tournament.

 

Crusaders number eight and captain Kieran Read suffered a minor head knock during the game. Following further medical assesment this morning they can confirm that he is much better.

 

Also during the game hooker Corey Flynn suffered a further hamstring injury.
