The DHL Western Province Under-21 team moved to the top of the Absa Under-21 Provincial Championship log after scoring a resounding 51-22 win over the Vodacom Blue Bulls in Pretoria on Saturday.

The win pushed them into the top spot in the tournament for the first time this season as the Xerox Golden Lions, who lead from round one, lost 19-20 to the Cell C Sharks in Durban. The Durban-defeat see the Johannesburg side drop to second, but it is clear that the top four places will be tightly contested, as only EP Kings and Leopards are out of the running. The latter suffered a heavy defeat in Potchefstroom, losing 55-7 to the Toyota Free State, who are now in third spot. Jacobus Vosloo contributed 28 of those points.

The Vodacom Blue Bulls have dropped to fifth.
