The Guinness PRO 14 championship is drawing to a close with only three and in some instances only four, pool matches left to determine who will play in the Guinness PRO14 Final Series.

PRO14 is divided into two pools, namely Pool A and Pool B and the Toyota Cheetahs play in Pool A.

The two top teams, number 1 in each pool, will go through to the Semi-Final of the Final Series, whilst the second and third teams in the pool will play in a Semi-Final Qualifier.

In Pool A the Glasgow Warriors secured their place as number one.  Whilst Munster is currently on 58 points in second place, the Toyota Cheetahs with 52 in third position and Cardiff Blues with 47 points in fourth position.

The match against the Cardiff Blues on Saturday, 7 April is of the upmost importance for both teams to make it through to the Final Series.  If the Toyota Cheetahs manage to beat Cardiff Blues they can secure their position in Semi-Final Qualifier of the Final Series.  Should for instance, Munster (58 points) play against Ulster in a Pool match and loose, and the Toyota Cheetahs beat Cardiff Blues, Munster and the Kings, the Toyota Cheetahs can move up to second position on the log, and play in a home Semi-Final Qualifier in the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.

The current position is that all the top players of Cardiff, Munster and all the other teams will play in the last rounds before the Final Series.

Saturday’s match between the Toyota Cheetahs and Cardiff Blues is therefore very important for both teams.  Free State Rugby call on all the Toyota Cheetah supporters to be in Toyota Stadium on Saturday at 15:00.

The support can help to get the Toyota Cheetahs through to the Semi-Final Qualifier of Guinness PRO14.  This will be a great and historic achievement for the Toyota Cheetahs.
