The Junior Springboks scored four tries on-route to a 33-24 win over New Zealand in their pool C clash at the IRB Junior World Championship in Albany on Friday.
Despite trailing at the break and a number of injuries during the match, the South African forwards never gave a step back and the backline did what they was supposed to and scored four great tries.

They now have a comfortable lead on top of the standings and look set for a semifinal spot, but still have a very capable Samoa left to play in their remaining match next week.

It was a victory built on forward dominance, with the Junior Springboks winning multiple tightheads at scrum-time and taking plenty of line-out bal off New Zealand who went down despite a hat-trick from their wing Tevita Li.

Flyhalf Handrè Pollard played with great authority and his captaincy and maturity was clear. His 18 points in the match also too him to 106 career points at the JWC, the top scoring South African at the Under 20 tournament.

Points Scorers:

South Africa 33 (14). Tries: Jesse Kriel, Handre Pollard, Lloyd Greeff, Warrick Gelant. Conversions: Pollard (2). Penalties: Pollard (3).
New Zealand 24 (17). Tries: Tevita Li (3). Conversions: Chris Hickey. Penalty: Hickey.
