Trojans Host Leaders Kisii

Championship leaders Resolution Kisii RFC travel to Eldoret where they face hosts UoE Trojans at the UoE Grounds on Saturday 14 January 2017.

Kisii boasts a 100% record, five wins from five to lead the second tier league with 23 points and will be looking to complete the season’s double against a side they defeated 29-11 in the first leg fixture at the Gusii Stadium on Saturday 19 November.

The Trojans will, of course, come into this fixture looking to make use of their home ground advantage to curtail Kisii’s ambitions.

This match will kick off at 4:00 pm at the UoE grounds.

Rivalry Renewed As Monks Welcome Mombasa

Second-placed Catholic Monks renew their acquaintance with Mombasa when the two sides meet in a KRU Championship encounter at the Catholic University in Karen on Saturday 14 January 2017.

The reverse fixture in Nairobi will no doubt be fiercely contested, moreso in good spirit as both sides keep up the chase for Kenya Cup promotion.

mwamba

Mwamba RFC has confirmed the mid-season signings of Patrick Ruhiu, Daniel Taabu and Ronnie Omondi.

Ruhiu joins Kulabu from Leos where he spent close to seven seasons. He will join Marcus Muriithi, Brad Owako, Felix  Otieno as well as the returning Vincent Jumba in midfield.

Taabu joins the club officially after completing his studies at Laiser Hill School. The former national school’s sevens championships winner plays at centre or wing and is also good with the boot. He has previously played for Daystar Falcons in the National Sevens Series in August.

Ronnie Omondi honed his rugby skills at St Joseph’s Kitale in Trans Nzoia county. After completing school, Ronnie has played for Machakos based Masaku RFC in the Nationwide for two seasons.

Back row Jeremy Griffins is also back from a loan stint at USIU-A Rugby Club.  The players are in the frame to make their debut for the Black Shirts this weekend as they host Kabras Sugar RFC in both Kenya Cup and Eric Shirley Shield.
