The MTN Golden Lions secured a 53-36 victory over the Platinum Leopards in a try-fest at Coca-Cola Park in Johannesburg after they were leading 29-15 at half time.
The Leopards enjoyed a good period of play in the second half that saw them draw level with the Lions at 36 all with only 13 minutes remaining. The Lions however were too strong in the final moments and ran away with the game as they scored two converted tries and a penalty in the final few minutes.
