The Steval Pumas have released their latest injury report following the Currie Cup match against the Toyota Free State Cheetahs last Friday. Several players will be unavailable for the team’s last match of the campaign against the Eastern Province Kings in Port Elizabeth this Friday. Here are the details from the medical team.
New injuries:
• Francois Brummer suffered an injury to the ligaments in his ankle and is wearing a boot. He will not be available for selection.
• Renaldo Bothma is sitting out training with chondritis of his rib cartilage and a contusion to his calf. He will have a follow-up on Wednesday.
• Hoffman Maritz is doing limited training with a strain in his groin. He will continue be evaluated this week to decide on severity and further management.
• De-Jay Terblanche is doing limited training with a contusion to his left quad and is also being evaluated.
Other injuries:
• Hennie Skorbinski has picked up an infection after surgery on his finger and will not be available for selection.
• Dylan Peterson has patellar tendinosis with a partial tear of a tendon in his knee. He will undergo six weeks of rehab and have a follow up with the doctor at the end of October.
