Springbok Women’s flank Lamla Momoti was forced to withdraw from the team’s opening Women’s Rugby World Cup clash on Friday against Australia due to a knee injury.
Momoti has been replaced in the starting XV by Rachelle Geldenhuys, who made her Test debut against France in July.

The Test will be hosted at the French Rugby Federation in Marcoussis at 15h45 on Friday.

Momoti suffered a knee injury at training on Thursday and had a late fitness test to give her sufficient time to recover from the injury, but despite this, she did not recover fully and had to be withdrawn from the squad.
