Several players were unavailable through injury:  Charlotte Scanlan (shoulder), Kayla McAlister (foot), Stacey Waaka (shoulder), Lesley Ketu (ankle), Alexis Tapsell (neck), Selica Winiata (back).

Head Coach Sean Horan said despite several injuries, they had a good depth of talent to draw on for the first of the four tournaments on the world circuit.

“The Central Coast Sevens last month was a great opportunity to blood in some players.  We have worked quite deliberately to build some depth, and to create competition for places.

“Our focus this week will be to regroup, and just to get the ball in our hands again.’

The final team for Dubai will be announced on Thursday 26 November before they depart from Auckland on Friday.
