The Vodacom Bulls are back from a difficult Australian trip and will be determined to lift their game at Loftus Versfeld and avoid a record fifth straight loss against their fierce southern rivals, the DHL Stormers, when the sides meet in the late Saturday Vodacom Super Rugby fixture. Kick-off is at 19h20.
The men from Pretoria returned home from their Australian trip with only one win from three matches. The Capetonians, on the other hand, travel to the North on the back of a fortuitous draw against the Sunwolves in Singapore last weekend, where a last-gasp converted try salvaged a 17-17 result in the Far East. Another bruising local derby is expected in Pretoria.
Earlier, the Emirates Lions will be looking to consolidate their position at the top of the South African group standings. However, in order to do that they will have to overcome a stiff challenge from Argentine Jaguares. It will be the first local fixture on Saturday, which kicks off at 15h00 at Emirates Airline Park in Johannesburg.
After that match, attention shifts to Durban where the Cell C Sharks are taking on their coastal neighbours, the Southern Kings. With Springbok flyhalf Patrick Lambie now back to full fitness and in command at flyhalf, the KwaZulu-Natalians will be looking to continue their recent resurgence, which have seen them move up the SA group standings into the qualifying positions.
Lambie kicked 20 points, including a crucial late penalty goal, last Saturday to steer his side to a hard-fought 25-22 win over the Jaguares in Buenos Aires. Although the Argentineans will be without two suspended players, regular captain Agustin Creevy and loose forward Leonardo Senatora, they will still be a formidable proposition against the Emirates Lions in their Highveld clash.
The Toyota Cheetahs, conquerors of the Kings last Saturday in Port Elizabeth, have a bye this weekend, together with the Brumbies, the Highlanders and the Hurricanes.
All the action will be televised live on SuperSport 1.

- Chiliboy Ralepelle will make his first start in the No 2 jersey, while captain Beast Mtawarira has been rested as part of the rotation policy. In fact the entire front row – including replacements – have been given a full rotation.
- Lourens Adriaanse and Dale Chadwick will start alongside Ralepelle, while Kyle Cooper, Juan Schoeman and Thomas du Toit are on the bench. Mtawarira, Franco Marais and Coenie Oosthuizen are all rested.
- More forward changes will see Jean-Luc du Plessis joining his brother Daniel in the loose trio in place of the injured Jean Deysel, who suffered a neck injury last week in Argentina. At lock Etienne Oosthuizen switches with Lubabalo Mtyanda to start in the No 4 jersey.

- This will be only the fourth clash between these teams; the Cell Sharks have won all three previous meetings by a combined 122-33 score line.
- The Durban side have won three and drawn one of their last five games against South African opponents, though they’ve not scored more than 18 points in any of their last three such fixtures.
