Rugby Hospitality Limited has been appointed by New Zealand Rugby to run the official and exclusive hospitality programme around All Black Tests for the next three years.
Rugby Hospitality Limited, which will trade as All Blacks Hospitality, is run by experienced hospitality and commercial rugby operators Warren Barclay and Warren Goddard. Both were heavily involved with the New Zealand Lions Series in 2005, and have been closely involved with rugby, and rugby hospitality, in New Zealand for many years.
Official tickets with hospitality packages are now on sale and strong demand is expected from corporates, businesses and individuals.
“We ran the hospitality programme when the Lions were here in 2005. It was huge then, and it will be just as big, if not bigger, in 2017”, said All Blacks Hospitality CEO Warren Barclay.
“We are New Zealand-based and we operate hospitality around international rugby in New Zealand year in and year out under the All Blacks Hospitality brand. We will use our local knowledge and expertise to showcase New Zealand, provide a unique New Zealand rugby experience and create hospitality programmes that reflect the special and unique nature of the New Zealand Lions Series 2017,” said Barclay.
New Zealand Rugby Chief Executive Steve Tew said the appointment was another step on the road to a successful Lions Series.
“Warren and his team are the most experienced providers of corporate hospitality in New Zealand and have managed the All Blacks Hospitality programme since 2008. We’re sure they will deliver an excellent experience for fans who want to enjoy hospitality during the Lions Series.”
The advice for fans was to book quickly.
“Based on previous large rugby events in New Zealand, particularly Rugby World Cup 2011 and the Lions Series in 2005, there will be significant demand for tickets,” said Barclay.
“As proud Kiwis we’ve got a great chance to showcase all that’s great about New Zealand.
“We are committed to making sure New Zealand businesses can do something special for their clients. We won’t see the Lions back in New Zealand for another 12 years, so our aim is to make this a once-in-a-lifetime experience, regardless of where the matches are taking place.
“It will be a sporting event up there with the likes of a Rugby World Cup and Cricket World Cup and we know how big they were. The emphasis will be on making it as accessible as possible to New Zealanders, providing good value for money and an experience everyone will remember for a long time.”
