The Vodacom Bulls out scored the Southern Kings six tries to none in a Round 7 Vodacom Super Rugby match at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.

Southern Kings’ flyhalf, Louis Fouche scored the first points for his team through a penalty kick in the thirteenth minute, but the lead was short lived as the Vodacom Bulls struck back with three successive tries.

The first, a charge down by Jan Serfontein followed by a foot race to dot it down, saw the Bulls add 5 points of their own as Bulls flyhalf Tian Schoeman missed the conversion.

Bulls winger Jamba Ulengo scored their second try after quick ball saw him dot down in the right hand corner, Schoeman again missed the conversion, as the Bulls extended their lead to 10 – 3 after 21 minutes.

SP Marais scored their third try after cutting into the backline from fullback, Schoeman added the two points on offer to extend their lead to 17 – 3.

The Southern Kings added another three points just before half-time to trail, 6 – 17, with four minutes to go.

The Southern Kings had to Bulls on their try line for about ten minutes after the half time hooter sounded, in which the Bulls received two yellow cards to RG Snyman and Morne van der Merwe.

The half finally ended with a try from Jurgen Visser referred to the TMO, but he was unfortunately held up as the half ended 6 – 17 to the Bulls.

The Bulls entered the second half determined and added another three tries as both Marais and Ulengo went over for their doubles.

First half yellow card recipient Snyman scored the third one, Schoeman added another two conversions, with replacement Francois Brummer converting Marais’ try.

The home side had a few opportunities out wide but the Bulls defended well as the final score ended 6 – 38 to the visitors.
