The Nelspruit based Steval Pumas will play the Toyota Cheetahs this weekend in their first warm-up match for the season.

Captained by the experienced Corné Steenkamp, the Pumas will also have three of their newly contracted players in the squad, Sabelo Nhlapo (prop), Snake Nyoka (scrum half) and the kicking sensation Justin van Staden (fly half).

“We look forward to the contest, although we are battling with a lot of injuries, the group is big enough to fill the gaps,” coach Jimmy Stonehouse said.

The team: Coenie van Wyk (15), Jerome Pretorius (14), Wilmaure Louw (13), Dewald Pretorius (12), Deon Scholtz (11), JC Roos (10), Snake Nyoka (9), Renaldo Bothma (8), Uzair Cassiem (7), Corné Steenkamp (6 -c), Giant Mtyanda (5), Marius Coetzer (4), Drew van Coller (3), Jacques Momberg (2), Sabelo Nhlapo (1). Reserves: Stephan Kotzé, DeJay Terblanché, Jaco Bouwer, Doppies le Roux, RW Kember, Reynier van Rooyen, Justin van Staden, Aswin Scott and JW Bell.
