Wallabies finalize bench for Italy clash

Backrower Jack Dempsey is set to make his Qantas Wallabies debut after he was named on the bench for Saturday afternoon’s clash with Italy at Suncorp Stadium.

Dempsey, who traveled on the 2016 Spring Tour as a Development Player, is set to become Wallaby 909 and the sixth debutant so far this season.

Wallabies coach Michael Cheika has again opted for a five-three split on the bench with Tatafu Polota-Nau, Toby Smith and Sam Carter the other changes to the reserves.

The last time the Wallabies met Italy in Brisbane, George Gregan made his International debut, in a tense 23-20 win at Ballymore in 1994.

The final “Arvo” Test kicks off at the family-friendly time of 3 pm AEST, with the hugely popular Take To The Turf to follow after full-time, allowing fans onto the playing surface at the iconic Suncorp Stadium.

The third June International for 2017 will be screened LIVE in High Definition and ad-break free during play on FOX SPORTS 501 from 2.30pm AEST and will be available to stream via Foxtel Go (for Foxtel subscribers).

The match will also be screened LIVE in High Definition on TEN and WIN Network and on tenplay.com.au from 2.30pm AEST in all markets.
