Brothers v University of Queensland, Crosby Park, 3:20pm – Game of the Round

Brothers will host University of Queensland in the 2016 Grand Final rematch at Crosby Park
this Saturday. The Brethren will be well rested coming into this game after a two-week bye,
while an angry UQ side will be out to exact revenge for last year’s loss. Currently sitting in
fourth on the table, the Brethren will need their best performance of the year to keep up
with the first placed University of Queensland. The Red Heavies will get their first crack
at Brothers since the Grand Final. In 2017, UQ are undefeated after five rounds and are
coming off a hot attacking performance where they scored 54 points against Norths. Be
sure to tune in to the live stream via redsrugby.com.au or Facebook LIVE.

Bond University v Easts, Bond University RFC, 3:20pm

Bond University will look to get their season back on track after some tough games since
the opening round. The Gold Coast side is coming off two straight losses, their latest a
36-19 defeat to Sunnybank. Bond can leapfrog Easts into sixth on the table with a win this
weekend. The Tigers will be disappointed after narrowly falling short against Souths last
week, when they failed with a final attacking raid to win the game. Down by three points,
the Tigers ran out of time as they went searching for the win. Still only one point out of the top four, Easts will be up for this game.

GPS v Norths, Yoku Road, 3:20pm

GPS rebounded well last week with a 33-27 come-from-behind win over Wests in the
Gallopers first match at Yoku Road. The Gallopers have had a strong start to 2017 with
three wins from four games, and will look to continue their winning form when they host
Norths this weekend. Norths are yet to have any luck this season, playing admirably but
falling short of victory. The Eagles are coming off a nice attacking game despite the loss,
scoring 34 points against UQ, the most by any team this season. The Eagles will hope their
attacking performance from last week can lead them to a win this weekend at GPS.

Wests v Souths, Scifleet Stadium, 3:20pm

The Bulldogs hadn’t played in two weeks coming into the last round, and they fell short
after the final whistle had sounded as GPS stole victory with a penalty try. Wests host an
in-form Souths team at the Kennel this week, and will need a big performance from their
team to get back into the winner’s circle. The Magpies are coming off a tough win against
Easts last week. With the scores locked in the dying minuets, flyhalf Jake Milne kicked a
drop goal to edge Souths ahead 29-26. Coming off back-to-back wins for the first time this
season, the Magpies will look to keep the ball rolling this weekend.
