John Leota of Sale Sharks appeared before an RFU disciplinary panel in Haydock last night.

Leota was given a two-week ban and he is free to play again on 25th October.

During last weekend’s Aviva Premiership match between Sale Sharks and Bath Rugby, Leota received a yellow card from referee Tom Foley. He was subsequently cited by the citing commissioner for an off-the-ball incident with Aled Brew of Bath.

The incident occurred in stoppage time of the second half.

The panel comprised of Anthony Davies (Chairman), John Greenwood and Adrian Senn.
