Rugby fans reminded to purchase tickets from official sellers for the DHL NZ Lions Series 2017

Loading...New Zealand Rugby is reminding fans wanting to attend matches in the DHL NZ Lions Series 2017, which kicks off in Whangarei on June 3, to purchase tickets from official sellers only.
Nigel Cass, DHL NZ Lions Series General Manager said tickets were no longer on public sale for the three Test matches and the Lions encounter against the Crusaders on 10 June, however, fans could still purchase tickets for all other matches on www.nzlionsseries.com.
Over recent weeks we’ve heard many examples of people purchasing tickets on reseller sites like Viagogo only to be disappointed when they get to the event – our strong message to fans is to keep away from these secondary ticketing sites or run the risk of missing out and a possible fine.
“The DHL NZ Lions Series 2017 is a major event under the Major Events Management Act 2007 (MEMA), which means tickets can’t be sold for a value greater than their original sale price. The only official places that Kiwis can purchase tickets for the Series are from www.nzlionsseries.com, All Blacks Hospitality and All Blacks Tours.”
The DHL NZ Lions Series was declared a major event in 2016. The MEMA also prevents unauthorised commercial exploitation at the expense of either the organiser or an official sponsor the event and includes unauthorised advertising and street trading within declared ‘clean zones’ match venues.
Under the MEMA the declaration of key event emblems and words, have been protected including the Series logo and use of the words ‘Lions’ and ‘the Lions’.

Hurricanes v the Lions – Limited availability from $41.65*
