Ahead of this weekend’s match, Dr Alan Kourie, The Cell C Sharks Team Doctor, has released a medical update on the following players:

| Heimar Williams | – Strained groin; – Out for approximately 4 weeks. |
| Matt Stevens | – Minor scope on the left knee; – Out for approximately 3 weeks. |
| Thomas du Toit | – Fitness call to be made later in the week. |
Ahead of the match Cell C Sharks head coach, Brad Macleod-Henderson said: “There were plenty of positives for us to take away from the draw against the Free State Cheetahs and the team will definitely be looking to build on that momentum going in to the Blue Bulls match. They are on a winning streak and are a difficult prospect at home.”
