Durban, 3 May 2016:  After arriving home from their three-week tour to New Zealand on Saturday night, the Cell C Sharks resumed training today.  Dr Alan Kourie, The Sharks team doctor, has issued the following injury update.

Name of Player            Injury
Cobus Reinach –       ACL injury (right knee);

–       To undergo surgery;

–       Out for nine months.

Francois Kleinhans –       Fully fit and available for selection.

Inny-Christian Radebe –       Meniscus tear (right knee);

–       Out for approximately four weeks.

Jacques Potgieter

 

–       Ankle rehab;

–       Approximate return in five weeks.

Marcell Coetzee –       ACL injury;

–       Operation was successful;

–       Out for nine months;

–       Rehab to commence shortly.

Patrick Lambie –       Fully fit and available for selection.

Philip van der Walt –       Neck injury;

–       Approximate return in 2/3 weeks.

Ruan Botha

 

–       In the final phase of ankle rehab;

–       Expected to return in 2/3 weeks.

Tera Mtembu –       Fully fit and available for selection.

Wandile Mjekevu –       Bone bruise on right knee;

–       Expected to return in two weeks.

Despite a challenging three-week tour to New Zealand, this new generation Cell C Sharks team showed great character and tenacity to return with points secured in every match they played on tour.  This Saturday, 7th May they play their fourth match, in succession, against New Zealand opposition, when they take on the Hurricanes at Growthpoint KINGS PARK at 15h00.

The Cell C Sharks team to play the Hurricanes will be announced at 10h30 this Thursday.
