Memberships are now on sale for the 2017 Super Rugby season, which will see the St.George Queensland Reds host seven home games at Suncorp Stadium.

Now in the second year of the new conference system, the Reds will play all Australian and New Zealand opposition at least once, while also playing fixtures against the Africa 2 Conference.

Fans are in for a blockbuster home schedule, including matches against 2016 champions the Hurricanes, seven-time winners the Crusaders and traditional rivals the New South Wales Waratahs.

The Reds also host Australian opposition the Western Force and ACT Brumbies and South African sides the Sharks and, for the first time ever, the Southern Kings.

Queensland’s away matches see them take on Australian opposition the Western Force, Brumbies and Rebels, along with the remaining New Zealand sides the Blues, Highlanders and Chiefs. Their most significant road trip comes early in March, when they travel to South Africa and Argentina to take on 2016 finalists the Lions in Johannesburg and a historic first match against recent newcomers the Jaguares in Buenos Aires.

The St.George Queensland Reds kick off the 2017 Super Rugby schedule at home against the Sharks from Durban in a Friday night clash in Round 1 on 24 February.

Reds head coach Nick Stiles said: “To say the team is excited about next year is an understatement. Kicking off our 2017 season at home is a great opportunity to get out and showcase to our fans the developments we’ve made through our hard work in the pre-season.

“We’ve got seven chances to play in front of our family, friends and fans next year and winning those home games is crucial.”

Reds fans have plenty to be excited about in 2017, with a number of key signings already announced for next year’s squad, including Wallabies Quade Cooper, Stephen Moore and George Smith. Their arrival bolsters an already exciting squad for next year which features the likes of Kane Douglas, James Slipper, Rob Simmons, Samu Kerevi and Nick Frisby.

The Reds are urging fans to ‘Answer the Call’ and join the Reds Family by becoming a 2017 member today. Membership packages are now available at www.redsrugby.com.au.
