Former Junior Springbok midfielder, JT Jackson, has made a full return to fitness and has been named in the Vodacom Blue Bulls team to play the Xerox Golden Lions XV in a SuperSport Rugby Challenge match to be played at Emirates Airline Park in Johannesburg on Saturday.

Jackson got injured when part of the Vodacom Bulls wider squad and coach Pote Human has little hesitation to select him when declared fit. The Vodacom Blue Bulls had a bye last weekend and will face the home side knowing that a win could push them to the top of the North section.

A human lost wingers Sibahle Maxwane and Jade Stighling, as well as flyhalf Tony Jantjies and flanker Abongile Nonkontwana to Vodacom Bulls call-ups, but still, have some depth to fall back on. Arno Botha returns at flank and will lead the team, while Kefentse Mahlo and Tinus de Beer join the team with some solid experience and form.

“They are playing at home, are undefeated and playing a very attacking game, so we need to be strong on defence, but also in the other areas of the game,” Human said.

“I am pleased with the fitness and preparation for this match and think we will give a good account of ourselves, the coach said.

The team is Ulrich Beyers, Duncan Matthews, Johnny Kotze, JT Jackson, Kefentse Mahlo, Tinus de Beer, Andre Warner, Clyde Davids, Arno Botha (c), Boom Prinsloo, Aston Fortuin, Freddy Ngoza, Jacobie Adriaanse, Cornel Els, Njabula Gumede.
