Three Vodacom Bulls stars extended their contracts with the Vodacom Bulls for another two years, the Blue Bulls Company (Pty) Ltd confirmed on Wednesday. Rugby World Cup bronze medallist and Springbok scrumhalf Rudy Paige, Junior Springbok and utility back Warrick Gelant and upcoming midfield star Burger Odendaal all committed to the Vodacom Bulls till October 2018.

This was confirmed by BBC High Performance Manager, Xander Janse van Rensburg.
“There can be no doubt that these players are sought after and we are grateful that they committed to remain part of the #BullsFamily,” Janse van Rensburg said.

“We are busy building something special with a new generation of players and I am very pleased to have these guys staying on to help us with that process. It is comforting to know that world class players like Rudy, Warrick and Burger see a future with us and is committed to help us achieve in our goals to become a special team.”

Janse van Rensburg also confirmed two short term signings.

•Prop Hencus van Wyk will be part of the Vodacom Bulls till May. He is contracted in Japan, but a call will then be made if the contract will be extend or whether Van Wyk will return to his Japanese club duties. Van Wyk played in his second Vodacom Super Rugby match on the weekend, when he came on as a replacement in the season opener against DHL Stormers in Cape Town.

•Former Southern Kings and Cell C Sharks outside back SP Marais and the BBC also agreed to a two month contract pending a medical.
Marais opted out of an EP Kings contract recently and has just recovered from a knee injury. Should he be cleared, he will join the Vodacom Bulls player roster for at least the next two months. The fullback wing has 35 Vodacom Super Rugby caps to his name.
