SANZAAR NEWS RELEASE

Torsten Van Jaarsveld issued a Warning

Torsten Van Jaarsveld of the Cheetahs has been issued a Warning for contravening Law 10.4(m) Any other acts (not previously referred to) which are contrary to good sportsmanship, during a Super Rugby match at the weekend.

The incident occurred in the 31st minute of the match between the Cheetahs and Crusaders played at Toyota Stadium, Bloemfontein on 29 April 2017. Van Jaarsveld placed his forearm on an opposing Player’s neck whilst that Player was on the ground.

A Warning may be issued by the SANZAAR Citing Commissioner for foul play incidents that are very close to, but in his opinion do not meet the Red Card threshold for citings.

Upon further review of the match footage, the Citing Commissioner deemed a Warning was appropriate.
