Toyota South Africa will once again lead the way at their rugby leg of the Fathers and Sons coaching series. Taking place at Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein on 8 February, this special rugby experience is open to boys and girls aged 6 to 13.

With what started as cricket coaching clinics, the Fathers and Sons concept was an instant hit when it launched back in 2010, says Toyota Senior Manager: Promotions and Sponsorship Mary Willemse.
“These hands-on coaching clinics offer a unique experience to eager youngsters as they are coached by current players and past heroes – a memorable opportunity and one that is cherished and spoken about long after the day draws to a close.”

As the development of rugby talent remains a key focus for Toyota, the brand has ensured that the event is a one of a kind as players such as Adriaan Strauss, Heinrich Brussouw, Pieter (Lappies) Labuschagne, Trevor Nyakane, Coenie Oosthuizen, Sarel Pretorius and Raymond Rhule will be present and participating in the day. With activities such as video sessions and team talks; passing, tackling, kicking and set piece drills as well as tours of the change rooms and media room; this is most certainly an adventure few will want to miss. This event is all about creating special memories and giving parents and youngsters and opportunity to not only engage with their heroes, but also with Toyota and its products.

“We encourage all of our young fans to come join us on February 8 from 08h30 to 14h00. We’ve always been a union who values our fans and this is a great way to open the door to them, ensuring that they get to know some of our players better as well as experience the behind the scene’s activities,” comments Harold Verster – Managing Director of Free State Rugby.

Parents will be afforded the opportunity to test drive the latest Toyota vehicles, join in the activities or watch the day unfold from the luxury of the presidential suite.

As an extension to the successful Toyota Cheetahs partnership this fun day out is available to all rugby lovers at a cost of R100 per adult and child couple and R50 extra per additional child – the package includes a kiddies lunch pack and goodie bag filled with great Toyota Cheetah memorabilia. The tickets are available at the Toyota Cheetahs store at Loch Logan (Waterfront) Mall from the 24th January. For those not based in the Free State, but eager to attend, an ‘Out of Towners’ element is available whereby fans can call through to the Waterfront based Cheetahs shop (051 448 1707) and confirm their bookings via a credit card payment.
