The flying flyhalf, Samoan Tusi Pisi.
The Hurricanes have received another boost with the arrival of one of the Pacific’s top first five eighths.
Tusi Pisi joins the Hurricanes off the back of a strong Rugby World Cup performance for Samoa and helping his Japanese side claim the All-Japan Championship and the Top League titles this season.
He will have his first day in camp with the Hurricanes today after completing his contract with Japanese club, Suntory Sungoliath in the weekend.
Hurricanes Assistant Coach, Alama Ieremia is looking forward to having Tusi join the team. “It’s great to finally have Tusi join the Hurricanes of 2012. His experience and tactical leadership will add to our young team. We are all excited and look forward to working hard with Tusi to build a successful team.”
The first five-eighth has one Super Rugby cap to his name after previously coming off the bench for the Crusaders in 2007 against the Sharks. He has appeared for North Harbour 50 times and holds 9 test caps for Samoa and the Pacific Islands. The 29 year old had been with Japan club Suntory since 2009.
