Waratahs Rugby is delighted to confirm that Volvo Cars Australia has extended its partnership with the NSW Waratahs for a further three seasons, becoming the naming rights sponsor of the NSW Waratahs High Performance Centre, Official Sponsor of the NSW Waratahs Head Coach, and the Official Vehicle Partner of Waratahs Rugby.
Joining forces in 2012, Volvo and the NSW Waratahs share the aligned values of performance and innovation and these have underpinned both parties’ success in recent times.

Waratahs Rugby CEO Greg Harris said both organisations would continue to benefit from the strong partnership.

“The NSW Waratahs have achieved an outstanding level of success in the past few seasons, and it is in no small part due to the contribution from our sponsors and supporters,” Harris said.

“The renewed commitment by Volvo reflects the positive way we are doing things, and we look forward to having them on board for years to come.

“The Volvo NSW Waratahs High Performance Centre is home to not just the Super Rugby team, but also development pathways including the Gen Blue program.”

Kevin McCann, Managing Director of Volvo Cars Australia, echoed Harris, saying that the ongoing relationship between the two organisations was a reflection of the commitment of Volvo to the rugby community in Australia.

“We have been long-time supporters of the code in Australia, and to continue our partnership with the strongest rugby franchise in the country is so important to us,” McCann said.

“To be involved with the evolution of this side over recent years, and to share in their unprecedented success, has been extremely rewarding for Volvo Cars.”

“We are committed to the ongoing partnership and look forward to seeing the progression of the team under new Head Coach Daryl Gibson” he added.

Gibson, who will be individually sponsored by Volvo, said the two organisations had great synergy.

“Everything we do at the NSW Waratahs is driven by our key values, and to have a high-performing partner like Volvo re-commit to our program reinforces the direction in which we’re heading” Gibson said.

“The 2016 Super Rugby season will be the most competitive to date, and we look forward to another successful year of exciting and expansive rugby.”

The NSW Waratahs will begin their 2016 Super Rugby season on Saturday 27 February against the Queensland Reds at Allianz Stadium.
