After a positive pre-season, Zebre look forward to their eighth consecutive season in the Guinness PRO14.

On Saturday 28 September, at 7.35 pm, Zebre travel to Murrayfield Stadium to face Edinburgh Rugby in the first round of the competition.

With ten players involved in the Rugby World Cup with Italy, the first few weeks of the Guinness PRO14 will certainly offer fans the chance to get to know the new signings.

Most of them are young talents, formerly Italian Under 20 Internationals, and established players arriving from prestigious European clubs.

There are eight players ready to make their official debut, six of whom are included in the starting XV.

They are the English winger Charlie Walker (former Harlequins), permit player Ludovico Vaccari (Fiamme Oro Rugby), centre Enrico Lucchin, Romanian prop Alexandru Tarus (former Sale Sharks) and the two Irish locks Mick Kearney and Ian Nagle. The Cork-born lock -former Munster, Leinster and Ulster- will lead the Italian side for the first time in an official encounter after being selected as skipper in the two pre-season friendlies against Benetton Rugby.

There is experience and quality in the half backs with South African fly-half Francois Brummer and Kiwi scrum-half Joshua Renton, as well as two Italian internationals in the back row with Johan Meyer and Giovanni Licata.

A notable battle will take place in the front row with two rising stars Danilo Fischetti and Marco Manfredi ready to gain their first starts.
