The South African Rugby Union (SARU) announced on Thursday that ticket sales for the HSBC Cape Town Sevens tournament will go on sale on Friday, 11 September at Computicket outlets.

From 09h00 rugby fans across the country will be able to buy their tickets to watch the two-day international spectacle on 12 and 13 December at the iconic Cape Town Stadium.

The new home of the South African leg of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series is nestled between Table Mountain, the Atlantic seaboard and the popular V&A Waterfront.

Tickets start from as low as R100 per person and will range up to R250 on the grand stand. The in-stadium experience will cater for a party stand, a family stand as well as a children’s play area.

Ticket prices for the HSBC Cape Town Sevens are as follows:
· R250.00 – West Stand
· R150.00 – South Stand
· R100.00 – North Stand (family stand – alcohol free area)
· R100.00 – North Stand (non-family section) and South Stand
· Business Club Lounge packages are available at R2 500.

Earlier this year Cape Town was confirmed as one of the venues in a new-look Sevens Series schedule featuring iconic locations which includes Sydney, Paris, Singapore and Vancouver.

These venues join other longstanding favourites such as Hong Kong, Dubai and London in a revamped ten-city schedule. The HSBC Cape Town Sevens will be the second leg of the global tour – filling its traditional slot early in December. It follows the Series opener in the desert city of Dubai.

SARU CEO Jurie Roux confirmed at a media function on Thursday in Bloubergstrand that tickets for the SA leg will go on sale on Friday at Computicket outlets, and said the ticket pricing offers outstanding value for money.

“The tickets are very affordable and, if you consider our fantastic offering of two full days of top-class rugby action and excellent corporate hospitality, then there is no doubt that the tournament offers outstanding value for money,” said Roux.

“Many of the leading teams will include global rugby stars, so from a rugby fan’s perspective, it will be a real treat to see such stars in action in one stadium. It is as occasion not to be missed.”

The Series champion will be crowned in London, where the final tournament is set to conclude on 22 May 2016, in a year that will also sees Sevens Rugby making its debut at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
