The SA Sevens Academy has returned from Dubai after they retained their Dubai International Invitational title for a record fourth year in a row.
The South Africans won all 5 of their matches, including the final, after they received a bye for their first clash on match day 1.

They defeated international opposition from England, Fiji, Tunisia and New Zealand on their unbeaten march to the cup title.

Their results were as follow: Day 1: Tunisia 36-5; Aquadive Apaché 34-5; Quarterfinal: Tunisia 33-12; semi-final: Templurs 40-0; Final: Wailors 36-14.

Stephen Hunt, Mark Richards and Rosco Speckman all starred for the Academy side who played as the Samurai Internationals.

Next outing for the squad is next week in George, where they will defend their PL7’s title at Outeniqua Park.
