Inaugural captain Nathan Sharpe has been named captain of the Western Force’s Team of the Decade that has been unveiled tonight.

The Team of the Decade was named as part of the Force’s 10th season celebrations and announced at the Nathan Sharpe Medal Dinner at the Perth Exhibition and Convention Centre.

The team features 869 Asteron Life Super Rugby caps for the Western Force and 476 Test caps, with Kieran Longbottom and Sam Wykes the only two players in the XV without international experience.

Six players from the 2015 squad were selected, including the club’s two 10-year players – Matt Hodgson and Pekahou Cowan.

More than 19,500 votes were collected across the six positional groups.

Nominees were shortlisted from the 136 players that have represented the Force since 2006, with a fan vote, media involvement and player input determining the final XV.
