The Super U20s Championship Final will be contested at Ballymore Stadium this Sunday between defending champions Queensland U20s and NSW Gen Blue U20s.

Queensland U20s, coached by Brad Thorn, have been the form side this year and are yet to drop a game in their campaign for their second Super U20s Championship title.

NSW Gen Blues, who needed a win last week against Melbourne Rebels U20s to make the Final, staged a thrilling come from behind victory to win 41-35 at AAMI Park, Melbourne.

ARU National Performance Programs Manager, Adrian Thompson said: “The standard of this year’s competition has been very high and we have seen some great new talent coming through for the BMW Australia U20s squad.

“The squad for the Oceania U20s Championship will be confirmed following the Players of National Interest camp at Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast next week.”

BMW Australia U20s Head Coach, Simon Cron said: “The Super U20s Championship has given those players an opportunity to show what they can do at the domestic level and now we need to create an environment that pushes them to the next level to compete internationally”.

“We will be working hard with the players from the moment they get into camp, we need to create depth in the squad and start working on role clarity in key areas of the game.

“The selectors are still looking closely at players for positions and there is still an opportunity for guys to put their hands up to be in the Oceania squad.”

The Final is the culmination of five weeks of competition with each of the Super U20s sides playing in venues across the country.
