The finals of the Totalsports President’s Cup will be held at City Park on Monday, September 25.

The Totalsports President’s Cup is an annual WPRFU Club Rugby competition, which sees the top six teams in each of the top three Super Leagues, (Super League A, B and C) battle it out for the Totalsports President’s Cup trophies.

With Heritage Day on Sunday, September 24 the Totalsports President’s Cup will once again fall on a public holiday to bring the club rugby season to a close.

There will be six matches played on the day at City Park, with bottom eight finals in each league being played as curtain-raisers for the three President’s Cup finals, culminating in the Super League A Final between defending champions Maties and Hamiltons.

Newly crowned Super League A champions Maties saw off Varsity rivals UCT in the semifinal, while Hamiltons eliminated False Bay to book their place in the main match which kicks off at 16h30 on the A Field at City Park.

In the Super League B Final underdogs Franschhoek will face Hamlets after both teams recorded upset victories in their semifinals to knock out top seeds St Georges and Villager.

The Super League C Final will feature top seeds Vineyards up against Scottsdene in the first match of the day on the A field at City Park.

President of the WPRFU, Mr Thelo Wakefield, said that the President’s Cup is set to showcase the strength of club rugby in Western Province once more.

“Club rugby is the lifeblood of our game in Western Province, and it is always great to see the passion that the President’s Cup creates.

“There are 110 clubs in Western Province which span a wide range of different communities, and truly bring people together.

“We look forward to some quality rugby, and a celebration of club rugby,” he said.

The President’s Cup is proudly sponsored by Totalsports in addition to associate sponsors Club Rugby TV and the Treble Group.

Entrance to this festival of WPRFU Club Rugby is R10 with tickets available at the gate, or through your club, unless you are wearing your club jersey, in which case entrance is free. Gates will open at 10h30 for what will be a fun day out for the whole family. Parking will cost R10 oer car.
