Vodacom Blue Bulls fitness report -Pollard not available for selection

Loading...Flyhalf Handrè Pollard is the only confirmed casualty ahead of the Vodacom Blue Bulls opening match of the Absa Currie Cup competition that stars this weekend.
Pollard is recovering from a shoulder injury and although he will be training this week, will not yet be exposed to contact drills, ruling him out of the season’s opener at Newlands on Saturday.
Courtnall Skosan will also only train on Wednesday due to a quad strain, but will be available for selection for the match against defending champions, the DHL Western Province.
Francois Hougaard (ankle) and Basil Short (knee) has been added to the long term casualty list
Following operations, they will join Cornell Hess (knee), Deon Stegmann (shoulder), Arno Botha (knee), Pierre Spies (bicep) and Louis Fouchè (knee) in a rehab program for the next four to six months.

Losskakel Handrè Pollard is die enigste ongeval met die oog op Saterdag se openingwedstryd van Absa se Curriebeker-reeks teen die DHL Westelike Provinsie op Nuweland in Kaapstad.
Pollard het herstel van ‘n skouerbesering en sal vandeesweek oefen, maar sal nog nie kontak maak nie en dus nie oorweeg word vir die wedstryd teen die verdedigende kampioenspan nie.
Courtnall Skosan sukkel met ‘n heupbesering en die vleuel sal Woensdag oefen. Hy is beskikbaar vir die WP-stryd.
Francois Hougaard (enkel) en Basil Short (knie) het intussen deel geword van die langtermyn-beseringslys. Hulle sal na hulle operasies vir die volgende ses maand rehabilitasie doen saam met Cornell Hess (knie), Deon Stegmann (skouer), Arno Botha (knie), Pierre Spies (bicep) en Louis Fouchè (knie).
